With the component software Geoxtension Fichtner IT Consulting has introduced a scalable solution to provide spatial intelligence in service oriented architectures (SOA). Geoxtension supports the integration and editing of geodata in web portal solutions. In 2007, GE Energy has acquired Fichtner's Geoxtension software and together with Fichtner will enhance the proven Geoxtension three-tier Web client as a supported GE Energy product. The companies are now collaborating on the development of Smallworld Geoxtension, the latest product in GE's Oracle® Spatial-based, Web-enabled software solutions for network and asset management.
